Summary: Inspired by this, and written for this.
Rodney McKay let out what Sheppard liked to call the "The World is Full of Idiots and They All Work for Me" yell. Mostly because every time McKay made that sound it was immediately followed by those words.
"What's wrong, buddy? Numbers not prime enough for ya?"
"My sister is evil!"
That made Sheppard look up from his magazine. "She trying to set you up with one of her friends? I think you should go for it. I think the long-distance relationship is really what you're best suited for."
Rodney ignored the dig and flapped at his screen. "She... she sent me this horrible..."
John sauntered over and leaned on Rodney's shoulder to look. He smacked Rodney in the back of the head. "It's just a cartoon."
"It is not 'just a cartoon'! It's a travesty of science! Look! This old bat is looking at a crescent moon. A quarter moon! And she's telling these kids that some people see it as half empty and some see it as half full and never mind that there's a huge difference between the waxing and waining stages. Never mind that you can have something that appears to be "half full" if you want to be poetic about it, but in this case it's not half anything. And why should we bother teaching our kids science because hey, who gets jobs in science anymore?"
